Who we are
Northern CT Hockey is an elite youth hockey organization in Connecticut that brings together the Nor’Easter Boys program and the CT Lights Girls program under one unified development system. The organization provides opportunities for players from Learn-to-Play with our First and Next stride programs through Tier 1 National Bound hockey, focusing on long-term player development, competition, and personal growth.
The Nor’Easter program offers teams from U8 to U18, including Tier 1 National Bound teams. The U18 National Bound team has appeared at Nationals in each of the last two seasons, while the U14 Tier 1 National Bound team won the CT Hockey Conference Championship during the 2025–26 season. The program focuses on high-level development through professional coaching, structured training, and a competitive environment designed to prepare players for the next level.
The CT Lights program offers teams from U8 through U19 and has a strong history of competing on the national stage, with teams advancing to National Championships in past seasons. Twenty-four years since its inception, the Lights continue to grow and offer programs to girls of all ages and abilities as one of the largest girls hockey programs in the state of Connecticut.
The Nor'Easter Jr Hockey program competes in the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). Located in the Northeast and Mid regions of the United States, the EHL as finished as the leader in the Direct - To - College Advancement at the NCAA Division II and III levels.
To go along with the NCAA Commitments, the EHL has also helped over 80 players work their way up the USA Hockey Ladder of Development to the North American Hockey League (NAHL) and the United States Hockey League (USHL). This area of advancement is also not limited to just players, as the EHL has seen several coaches make the jump up the ladder as well.
